My dear brotha gave me an unabridged copy of Les Miserables as a grad present! And for this, I drew bookmarks of Valjean and Javert to help me with my reading. :3
Each one is used for marking separate pages. Valjean keeps track of the main story, while Javert marks the translator’s notes of the terms used throughout each chapter.
Obviously, Javert’s not very happy about Valjean hiding away in another page of the brick. He shakes his baton with determination and swears by the stars they will meet again… ONE DAY.

These brickmarks are adorable! 
And the purpose thay each serves is comedically creative. If I was the hat-wearing type, I'd tip it to you. My own brickmark is just an acid-free piece of green paper with my digression-skipping cheat code written on it! 
So far the only ones I've really skipped are Waterloo (it's not my jam, but I did read the last chapter of it as advised by others) and A Parenthesis. I figured that reading Petit-Picpus would be more "fun" once Valjean and Cosette have already settled down in the convent. And it was! I also enjoyed Paris Atomized.
